OPERATIONS
ON THE PCN
This map shows
the general operational layout of the PCN. The PCN mainline runs
north-south between Point Comfort, TX and Lolita, TX, with the headquarters
being in Lolita. The distance is approximately 13 miles. In
Point Comfort, railcars (covered hoppers) at the Alumininum Company of
America's (ALCOA) refining operations are loaded with aluminum oxide and
shipped north to Lolita. At Lolita, trains are created and then routed
over Union Pacific tracks to various points north and east, with the primary
destination being the ALCOA smelting operations at Rockdale, TX.
